MONTEVIDEO, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Most of Uruguay's Davis Cup tennis team headed for Paraguay on Sunday to play the final in Americas Zone Group Two, which runs from Friday to Sunday and awards the winner a place in Group One. Uruguay comes from two extremely successful first round series: crushing both Jamaica and Ecuador 5-0 in the first round and the semi-finals respectively. Meanwhile Paraguay first defeated Cuba 5-0, then the Dominican Republic 4-1. Uruguay is the favorite with its top racket Pablo Cuevas, ranked 124th in the world. Paraguay's top racket, Ramon Delgado, ranked 176th, has dropped out with a muscle injury. Uruguay's other tennis players are Marcel Felder, Martin Vilarrubi and Federico Sansonetti, ranked 345, 837 and 929 respectively. No Paraguayan apart from Delgado is in the world's top 1000. Uruguay captain, Jose Luis Damiani, said at a Sunday press conference that Delgado's absence does not matter arguing that "in sport you can never say the last word". He said that Paraguay has invested time and hope in the preparation of their team, although Delgado's absence does make their task harder. Damiani, Sansonetti and Felder left from Montevideo airport on Sunday, Cuevas and Villarrubi will arrive in Paraguay's capital Asuncion from Europe on Monday. Uruguay has not reached Group One since 1995, and has never been in the World Group although it featured in the play-offs in 1990, 1992 and 1994.
