TIANJIN, China, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- England coach Hope Powell expressed her disappointment after their 0-3 loss to the United States in the quarterfinal of 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China on Saturday night.

"It was a tough game," said Powell. "Obviously we are disappointed with the result. We should learn a lot from this tournament."

"Our defense is good in the first half. But we are facing the world No. 1 and they deserve the win of the match. We truly believed that we could go further but we didn't," said Powell.

"We made mistakes in the second half to let the Americans score three times in 15 minutes. You make mistakes in matches like this level, you got punished," Powell said.

"The game is just finished for us," said the coach. "But I think experiences will help us in the future."
