VIENNA, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Austrian vice chancellor Wilhelm Molterer met the Chinese sport administration delegation, headed by Liu Peng, the president of the State General Administration of Sport of China here Monday.

Molterer welcomed Liu's visit in Austria and said that China became the important cooperative partner for Austria, and with the mutual rapid development in economic, political, cultural and sport fields, the bilateral relation achieved comprehensive and positive development.

He thanked China for the support to Salzburg, Austria, on bidding for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, stressing that Austria always attach importance to the cooperation of Sport with China, and Austria would support Beijing to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, and send a strong sport delegation to attend the Games.

Liu Peng thanked the Austrian support and cooperation, saying that China should learn from Austria for its development strategy of sport based on own national situation, and further promote the cooperation on sport with Austria on the occasion of the Beijing Olympic Games.

Upon the invitation from the Austrian State Secretaries for sport Reinhold Lopatka, the Chinese senior sport administrative delegation, headed by Liu Peng, visited Austria on Sept. 22 to 24.

During the visit, Liu also met Leo Wallner, the president of the Austrian Olympic Committee.
