BERLIN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 27-year-old Croatian international Ivan Klasnic will be participating in a training session with his German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on Wednesday. It's the first time for Klasnic to train since undergoing a life-saving kidney transplant last year. Having been diagnosed with a kidney insufficiency he was given one of his mothers kidneys, but his body rejected it. In March he had a second transplant - this time with one of his father's kidneys - and this time it was successful. Since then, he has slowly been regaining his strength and working on returning to his life as a professional football player and on Wednesday he could be reaping the rewards. "I am feeling very good," the striker told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa on Tuesday. "The way things stand at the moment will be there on Wednesday, there are just a few formalities to finalize." After being examined by the German football association doctor on Friday, he has received written confirmation of the green light that Dr. Wilfried Kindermann gave him. There were times that Klasnic thought of retiring. "I do not wish that on anybody else," said the striker who has scored 42 goals in 135 matches for Werder Bremen. It remains open when Klasnic can really play again.
