JAKARTA, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian Grand Master (GM) Susanto Megaranto qualified for the FIDE World Cup in Russia after finishing in the top 10 of the sixth Asian Chess Championships in the Philippines over the weekend.

Susanto, whose elo rating is 2554, finished fifth in the event with 7.5 points, English daily The Jakarta Post reported Monday.

His mentor GM Utut Adianto failed to qualify for the seventh World Cup appearance after finishing 23rd with 6 points.
