MADRID, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Spanish soccer giant Real Madrid presented its private plane to press on Monday, carrying players to a Wednesday Champions League match in Rome against Italian team Lazio.

The aircraft, nicknamed La Saeta (the arrow), a twin-engine McDonnell Douglas 83, will also be used by Real Madrid's basketball team, which frequently plays away games in the Euro Liga.

The club said the plane had been provided by Viajes Iberia, which agreed to reduce costs for the club in exchange for committing to the tour operator.
