SAN JOSE, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A former Costa Rica Olympic Committee (CON) member has accused CON's president, Jorge Nery Carvajal, of 37 counts of fraud, one count of using a forged document and one count of misadministration, domestic newspaper LaNacion said on Tuesday. The accuser, Danny Valverde, presented a seven-page document ofcharges and six volumes of documents in evidence to the Deputy Attorney General's Office in the nation's capital, San Jose, the newspaper said. Valverde accuses Carvajal of ordering subordinates to forge 31 invoices claiming for courses funded by international bodies. Six of these were paid by Solidarity International, a body which sends money to Olympic Committees across the world to pay for courses and award athletic scholarships. These courses were swimming, fencing, judo, wrestling and taekwondo. CON officer Edwin Suarez told media that Carvajal had not yet received the substance of the charges and so will not comment.
