Argentinean golfer Cabrera wins Singapore Open

SINGAPORE, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera hit a birdie on the final hold and held off Fiji's Vijay Singh by one shot to win the Singapore Open on Sunday, with defending champion Adam Scott in third.

The Argentinean hit the fourth round of 72 with an eight-under of 276 total.

Singh shot a lowest score of the day of 67, with a seven-under score to be runner-up.

Title holder Scott of Australia settled for third place following a battling 71, finishing five behind the new champion while American rookie Jin Park enjoyed his biggest payday by finishing fourth in the star-studded Barclays Singapore Open with a closing 74.

Britisher Lee Westwood finished fifth at 1-under after a 3-over 74 final round.
