BRUSSELS, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Dutch coach Marco van Basten on Friday named his 24-man squad for the 2008 European Championships qualifiers against Luxembourg and Belarus, calling up PSV Eindhoven striker Danny Koevermans and Feyenoord defender Tim de Cler. Captain and goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is also included in the squad despite being replaced at halftime in Manchester United's UEFA Champions League game against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday due to a foot injury. Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will be reactivated from suspension and is expected to lead the Dutch attack, while his club teammate Wesley Sneijder will dominate the midfield. The Netherlands is second in Group G with 23 points from 10 matches. It needs two points from the remaining two matches to book a place for the European Championships in Switzerland and Austria next year. It will take on Luxembourg on Nov. 17 in Rotterdam as the overwhelming favorite, and is almost certain to sail through. On Nov. 21, the Dutch side will travel to Minsk for the final group game against Belarus. To the fans' disappointments, Arsenal forward Robin van Persie and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben are unavailable for the two qualifiers through injuries.
