French club splashs 600,000 euros for Zambian striker

LUSAKA, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- French first division club Racing Club Strasbourg have offered Berrichone Chateauroux 600,000 euros for Zambian striker Jacob Mulenga to join them on a permanent basis.

Mulenga, who is on loan until June 30, 2008, has so far played 10 times for Berrichone making three starting appearance in his new role as an attacking midfielder.

Strasbourg manager Jean Marc Furlan described Mulenga as a versatile player with a lot of potential, adding that the Zambian international has adapted to the team's style of play.

Furlan said although Mulenga has not scored they were confident he would soon find the back of the net.

Mulenga has been named in Zambia national team coach Patrick Phiri's 28 man provisional squad for the 2008 Ghana Africa Nations Cup.
