Striker Kaviedes to play with Ecuador's champion team

QUITO, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Ecuadoran striker Jaime Ivan Kaviedes was presented on Friday as the new reinforcement for Ecuador's current soccer club champion team Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito.

Kaviedes signed a two-year contract with Liga de Quito.

The striker joins other great players in Liga de Quito, including Jose Francisco Cevallos, Daniel Viteri, Eder Vaca, Cristian Suarez and William Araujo, who were presented as new reinforcements on Thursday at Casa Blanca stadium.

Liga de Quito will play the Libertadores Cup, the South American Cup and the 2008 national championship.

Kaviedes is a national team player and last season he played for El Nacional. He had also played for other Ecuadoran teams, including Emelec, Barcelona and Deportivo Quito, as well as in Spain, Italy and England.
