Cousin of Brazil soccer star dies in shooting

RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Igor Nazario de Lima, the 25-year-old cousin of Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo Nazario de Lima, died of gunshot wounds on Saturday night outside the pharmacy where he worked, local media reported on Sunday.

Igor was one of four people who were shot from a passing car by unknown assailants outside the store in northern Rio de Janeiro.

Media did not name the other victims: an employee and a client who both died; and a fourth person who was taken to hospital but does not have life-threatening injuries.

Police said they do not know the motive for the crime nor which of the three who died was the target of the attack.
