Van Nistelrooy extends contract with Real

MADRID, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy signed a new deal with Real Madrid on Wednesday which guaranteed him to stay until 2010.

"I am delighted to be staying here for two more years. It's an honour for me to be a part of the history of Real Madrid," Van Nistelrooy told the club's website.

No financial conditions were disclosed. Van Nistelrooy, 31, joined Real from Manchester United in July 2006 for 15 million euros (22 million U.S. dollars) on a three-year contract.
