Fluminense forced to 2-2 tie at home in Rio's state championship

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Fluminense tied Resende 2-2 in the third round of the second phase of Rio's state championship in Maracana Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Fluminense opened the score in the fourth minute thanks to defender Luiz Alberto, but just two minutes later Resende's striker Alexsandro levelled it 1-1.

Alecsandro scared the hosts in the 25th minute when he scored Resende's second in the match before striker Cicero's effort to level it second time in the 62nd minute.

Fluminense will face Americano on Saturday in the fourth round, while Resende will play America.
