MEXICO CITY, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Salvadoran striker Rodolfo Zelaya has scored more goals than anybody else in El Salvador's soccer league this season, followed by Honduran strikers Pompilio Cacho and William Reyes, according to news reaching here on Thursday.
Zelaya has scored seven goals for Chalatenango club while Cachohas scored five goals for Vista Hermosa club and Reyes has scored five goals for Metapan club, said reports reaching here from El salvador's capital, San Salvador.
El salvador's sports press reported that Zelaya is the revelation of El Salvador's soccer league and that he will be called to play for the national team in the elimination games leading to South Africa-2010 World Cup.
In his most recent game on Wednesday against Aguila club, Zelaya passed the ball for a goal and scored the second goal to help his team tie 2-2.
The eighth game for the Salvadoran soccer league will be played on Saturday and Sunday with the games: Alianza-Chalatenango, Firpo-Once Municipal, Nejapa-San Salvador, FAS-Vista hermosa and Aguila-Metapan.
Vista hermosa currently heads the championship with 13 points, while Aguila and Metapan are in tied in second place with 12 points each and Zelaya's team is 7th with seven points.
