Bogafogo ruins Easter for Macae

BRASILIA, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Bogafogo ruined Easter for Macaeon Sunday, crushing the rival 7-0 in the state tournament thanks to a four-goal binge by Wellington Paulista.

Botafogo has accumulated 15 points and practically guaranteed a spot in the semifinals of the tournament. Macae, however, is in danger of being sent to the second division of next year's event.

Botafogo began its spree of goals quickly. In the first 15 minutes of the game, Paulista had already scored two goals. It only took the player another six minutes to score. Before the first half was over, Wellington was taken down in the penalty box.

Lucio Flavio, who was celebrated for participating in his 100th career game for Botafogo before the game started, took the kick and scored the team's fourth goal of the game.
