JAKARTA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government will build a special hospital for athletes in efforts to address injury problems that plague athletes, local press said Wednesday.

The hospital, which may cost 195 billion rupiah (21 million U.S. dollars), will be built in East Jakarta next year, reported English daily The Jakarta Post, quoting remarks from a senior government official.

"With a special hospital, we hope to help our injured athletes recover quickly from their injuries," said Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Adhyaksa Dault.

Injured athletes are in dire need of faster recovery than ordinary patients because they had to return as soon as possible to training, he said.
