BRASILIA, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Sunday's round of games in the men's national basketball tournament witnessed its favorites pull off easy victories.
The leader of the tournament, Flamengo, remains undefeated, beating Lajeado 111-76. Flamengo is now way out in front on the standings with 16 straight victories.
Flamengo's Marcelinho wash the team's high scorer with 20 points, four rebounds and six assists. For Lajeado, the team high,and game high scorer was Audrei with 23 points.
The second place team in the tournament, Pitagoras/Minas, also came out of Sunday with a victory. They defeated FTC/Salvador by 92-70. Their current record is 13 wins and four losses. The team and game high scorer, Soro, made 10 out of 17 shots and ended with26 points. Another two players from Minas had a double-double: Maozao (13 points and 10 rebounds) and Sucatzky (13 points and 10 assists).
For Salvador, they have only won four games out of 15 total matches. The team's high scorer was Gilson, with 16 points.
In third place, Joinville also won their game. They beat Iguazu102-58. The team accumulated its 11th win out of 17 games. The game high scorer was Williams, from Joinville, with 22 points, six rebounds and seven assists. For Iguazu, Douglas scored 10 points and hauled in 11 rebounds.
Also in contention in the team of Universo/BRB, who arrived at their 11th victory out of 15 games. They beat on Sunday Uberlandia87-80. Valtino was Universo's leading scorer with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. For Uberlandia, who is in 8th place with 10 victories in 18 games, their leading scorer was Fuellen with 23 points.
