BUENOS AIRES, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Miguel Angel Mico on Monday became the fifth manager to resign at Argentine soccer giant Racing Club during the nation's Closing Tournament, where Racing is in last place after eight matches.

"It is the best decision," Mico told Argentine television. "I gave it my all and I am satisfied with what I have done. It is bad luck that the results did not go my way. Perhaps with a change at the top the situation will turn around."

Racing is one of Argentina's five soccer giants, but has a mere three points, from three draws and five losses.

On Friday, the team lost 2-1 to San Juan team San Martin at Racing's home stadium. The match was played without supporters because Racing's fans had rioted during the team's last match, facing La Plata team Estudiantes.
