Ten countries -- Bahrain, Bangladesh, host Brunei, Jordan, Myanmar, Mongolia, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan-- will vie for qualifying for the Group Three tournament, it added.
Myanmar has hosted the Davis Cup matches twice, the first of which was Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group Four tournament in April-May 2005, in which Singapore and Bangladesh qualified for the Group Three tournament.
Myanmar hosted the similar tournament for the second time in May 2007, attended by 40 players from ten countries -- Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Syria, host Myanmar, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The ten countries divided into two groups and Syria and Tajikistan qualified for the Group Three after defeating host Myanmar and Bangladesh 3-0 respectively in the final day and host Myanmar finished third in the five-day tournament.
In 2006, Jordan hosted the tournament and Oman and United Arab Emirates qualified.
Myanmar also finished third in the 2003 Davis Cup regional tournaments in Sri Lanka.
