WASHINGTON, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Defending champion Serena Williams reached the final at the Sony Ericsson WTA Open on Thursday, fighting back for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory over Russian third seed Svetlana Kuznetsova.
The 26-year-old American needs one more win for her fifth Miami title and second in a row.
"I don't feel tired or sore or anything," Williams said of the nearly three hours match. "I feel like I'm really fit. I've been working really hard."
Williams fired her 12th ace to reach match point, and Kuznetsova then sailed a lob long.
Williams, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, will try to defend her title in Saturday's final against the winner of a later semi-final between Serbian fourth seed Jelena Jankovic and Russia's Vera Zvonareva.
