BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge said on Tuesday that he would not consider running for re-election until after the Beijing Olympic Games.

"I will make up my mind after Beijing (Olympics) if I will be a candidate for 2009," Rogge told Chinese reporters.

"This is the decision that I will take sometime after the Beijing Games. Today, I even don't know if I will be a candidate," he added.

Rogge is attending the assembly of the Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) which takes place in Beijing from April 7-9.

Rogge, who succeeded Juan Antonio Samaranch as the IOC chief in2001, admits that his job requires passion for sport and the Olympic Movement.

"The job of the president of the International Olympic Committee, like all the IOC members, requires engagement. We are not paid for the job we are doing," he said.

"What you have to ask at that time is not 'Do I want to do it?' It's the question that you have to ask is 'Could I be useful for the Movement?' 'Could I still add something to the Movement?' and 'Could I contribute?'" added the Belgian.
