World Elite Professional Snooker Competition to kick off in China

NANJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The 1st World Elite Professional Snooker Competition is to kick off here this June in the capital of eastern China's Jiangsu province, with the participation of 12 players, including Chinese star Ding Junhui, said Sports Bureau of Jiansu on Wednesday.

This competition, to be staged at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, is scheduled on June 6-8 and will be attended by 12 players, including eight selected from the world's top 16 and other four wild cards, said Zhou Xu, deputy director-general of Sports Bureauof Jiansu.

"It is confirmed that Ding Junhui is going to participate in this event," he added.
