Bangladeshi media against boycotting Beijing Olympics

DHAKA, April 13 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi media is against any attempts to boycott the Beijing Olympics, to be held in August this year, a senior Bangladeshi journalist said here Sunday.

Hassan Shahriar, president of the Commonwealth Journalists Association, said that the Olympics is a big world sports event and has nothing to do with politics.

Hassan said China has already made good preparations for the Olympics and he wished the Beijing Olympics a success.

"The Tibet issue is China's internal issue" and no country can intervene, he added.
