A1 Team Lebanon earn nothing in Shanghai race

BEIRUT, April 14 (Xinhua) -- A1 Team Lebanon finished 18th in the Sprint race and 22nd in the Feature race at the A1GP World Cupof Motorsport held in Shanghai, China over the weekend, local Naharnet news website reported on Monday.

"It was an uneventful Sprint race and although we didn't make up any ground, I was able to stay on the pace of the cars around me and we completed the race distance," driver Jimmy Auby was quoted as saying after the two races.

"The Feature race was very disappointing, with my rookie errors costing us any chance of improvement, but I have gained so much experience today, only my second weekend with the team," Auby added.

A1 Team USA's Jonathan Summerton came in first while Portugal's Filipe Albuquerque finished second. They were joined on the podium by Ireland's Adam Carroll who raced to third position.

The final round of the 2007-2008 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, the third season of the Series, takes place at Brands Hatch in Kent, Britain, from 2-4 May.
