Young Africans top Tanzanian soccer premier league

DAR ES SALAAM, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Young Africans have clinched this year's Tanzanian premier league title on Sunday by drawing Prisons FC in the 14-club double round-robin tourney.

Though with still two games left, the Young Africans garnered an unbeatable tally of 48 points from 14 wins and six draws.

Second-placed Prisons are six points adrift from the leaders but with only one more game to play while last year's league champions Simba SC have posted 40 points from 10 wins and as many draws. Simba still have two games to play.

Young Africans, locally known as the Yanga, finished runners-upin last year's premier league tournament.

The bottom four clubs will have to face relegation to the first division for the 2009/2010 season.
