BUENOS AIRES, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's Boca Juniors soccer club will play as home team on Wednesday against Copa Libertadores' defending champion Brazil's Cruzeiro at Buenos Airesin the first leg game of the Knockout phase.
Six-time Copa Libertadores' winners Boca Juniors will face Cruzeiro at Buenos Aires', Argentine capital, "La Bombonera" stadium at 17:40 local time (20:40 GMT) and the game will be refereed by Uruguayan native Jorge Larrionda.
The return game will be played in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and the winner will play the winner of the encounter between Argentina's Lanus soccer club and Mexico's Atlas.
This will be the sixth encounter ever between these two teams, and in the prior five games Cruzeiro has won three, tied one and lost one game against Boca Juniors.
Boca Juniors won its first Copa Libertadores title in 1977, precisely against Cruzeiro. Cruzeiro has won Copa Libertadores' title three times.
Meanwhile, Boca Juniors soccer club, coached by Carlos Ischia, also have an important game to look forward to on Sunday against River Plate club in the Argentine soccer league's Closing tournament.
Cruzeiro has so far scored the most goals in this season's CopaLibertadores, with 17 goals to its credit.
