WASHINGTON, May 3 (Xinhua) -- NBA announced Friday to suspend Washington Wizards forward Darius Songaila for one game after the Lithuanian hitting Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James.
The incident occurred late in the first period of Wednesday's game five, in which Washington won 88-87 away over the Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs, when Songaila stroke James in the face with his hand.
Songaila, a 30-year-old five-year veteran, was to serve the suspension on Friday when the Wizards host Cleveland in game six of the Eastern Conference series. Cleveland leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.
