Cruzeiro beats Atletico-MG for state title

BRASILIA, May 4 (Xinhua) -- In a battle of arch rivals, Cruzeiro got the best of Atletico-MG on Sunday with an aggregate score of 6-1 over the two game series.

On Sunday, they only scored one goal, but it was more than enough to bring home the state championship.

Atletico-MG was renowned for their tough defense. However, this did not intimidate Cruzeiro's players as they walked all over the team in the state tournament finals.

Having won last Sunday 5-0, Cruzeiro wanted to play good defense and keep the ball away from their adversaries.

Sunday's game ended with three expulsions and one goal. It was Bolivian, Marcelo Moreno who dove to put a head on the ball and guide it through the net in the 30th minute of the second half.

This year's victory was a sweet revenge for Cruzeiro. In last year's championship game, Atletico-MG defeated Cruzeiro with a two game score of 4-2.
