BUENOS AIRES, May 5 (Xinhua) -- The former coach of Chile's Colo Colo, Claudio Borghi, on Monday became Independiente's soccer coach and promised to keep the playing style of interim coach Miguel Angel Santoro.
"We are going to try to continue 'Pepe's style," said Borghi, since Independiente has won four games in a row in Argentina's closing tournament while coached by Santoro, and is only four points away from the leader.
Borghi, 43, said that "taking a team that has been winning is very good."
Santoro coached Independiente for six games, tying the first one, losing the second and winning the next four games. Santoro had replaced Independiente's former coach Pedro Troglio.
This is the first time Borghi coaches in Argentina. He had worked with Chilean teams, including Audax Italiano and Colo Colo, with which he won four championships.
