BRASILIA, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Carlos Parreira is back in Brazil after some family troubles brought him back to the country from the head coach position of the South African national team.
The former coach of the Brazilian national team had declared that he wanted to take a leave from the sport to relax. However, one month after having entered into his vacation, he is ready to look at the options available to coach once again.
Parreira, 65, has made it clear that he has not left the sport behind.
"In the upcoming months, my duty is to be by the side of my wife, Leila. Her health problems are my main concern. However, I am going to continue with my future in soccer," he stated.
The coach also declared that he has no plans of working outside of Brazil.
"I began to coach when I was 24 in Ghana. Since then, it was been a 41 year-long marathon. Your heart gets weaker as time goes by. I don't want to be far from my grandchildren, daughters and my wife," admitted Parreira.
Due to his desire to be closer to his family, the coach is very interested in coming back to the sport for a team in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
"I prefer Rio, but that doesn't mean that I won't consider other offers throughout the country," concluded Parreira.
