JAKARTA, May 12 (Xinhua) -- China's Hong Kong women's squad secured its win 5-0 against South Korean girls in the second day Uber Cup badminton tournament at the Bung Karno Sports hall in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday.
Playing the first match, Hong Kong's Pui Yin Yip beat Kerry-lee Harrington 21-6, 21-7. Second singles Kwan Yi Mong demolished Stacey Doubell 21-6, 21-9. Third singles Ka Shun Ng edged past Annari Viljoen 21-18,21-10.
With women's doubles, Wai Chee Koon and Hoi Wah Chau swept past their South Korean players Michelle Edwards and Chantal Botts 21-19,21-10.
In the second doubles, Hong Kong's Tsz Ka Chan and Ying Suet Tse beat South Korean girls 21-6, 21-8.
In the Uber Cup women's games Monday afternoon, China beat Germany 4-1.
In the Thomas Cup games, China defeated Canada 5-0 Monday afternoon while Indonesia crushed Germany 5-0 and Japan also enjoyed a 5-0 whitewash over New Zealand.
