PNA receives sports equipment from China

AL-BIREH, West Bank, July 22 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) received a passel of sports equipment from the Chinese government on Tuesday.

During a ceremony held in the West Bank city of Al-Bireh, Palestinian Minister of Youth and Sports Tahani Abu Dikka inked several documents in this regard with Yang Weiguo, head of the Office of China in the Palestinian territories.

He received a set of table tennis equipment from Yang as part of sports equipment donated by China.

According to officials at the PNA Ministry of Youth and Sports, more than 150 Palestinian sports clubs will benefit from China's donations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Abu Dikka highly praised the friendship between the Chinese and Palestinian peoples, and expressed her appreciation for China's support.

She also wished the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games a success.

For his part, Yang said he hopes the sport equipment provided by China could enhance the cooperation and exchange between the two peoples in the realm of sports and culture.
