BEIJING, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Alina Alexandra Dumitru of Romania won the first judo gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games here on Saturday.

Dumitru defeated Yanet Bermoy of Cuba to take the first judo gold on offer.

And the bronze medal was shared by Paula Belen Pareto of Argentina who won over DPR Korean Song Pak Ok, and Ryoko Tani of Japan who outpowered Russian Lyudmila Bogdanova.
