BUCHAREST, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Romanian No.1 tennis player Victor Hanescu on Sunday won the men's division of the First Edition of National Tennis Championship "Masters Romania".
Hanescu defeated Victor Crivoi 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a game that lasted one hour and 48 minutes.
Hanescu is the No.1 Romanian player in the ATP rankings, holding the 50th place.
The women's division was won earlier by Monica Niculescu, who defeated Irina Begu 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a match that took two hours and 27 minutes.
The six-day championship is fitted with prizes consisting of items worth 600,000 euros. Thus, the winners will each receive a house of 245,000 euros.
The runners-up will receive all-road SUVs while the ones in third place will receive free flights to all competitions throughout 2009.
