HANOI, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese national football team will begin preparation for the Asian Cup qualifiers on Jan. 6, local newspaper Vietnam News reported on Wednesday.
Vietnam will clash with Lebanon at home on Jan. 14. The second leg will take place on Jan. 18.
Vietnam will then meet China on Jan. 21 before flying home for Lunar New Year Festival.
The group also includes Syria.
Vietnam clinched the ASEAN Football Championship title for the first time recently after beating Thailand 3-2 on aggregate in a two-leg final last week.
