Spaniard Avendano wins 13th stage on Dakar Rally four-wheel

BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Spaniard Carlos Avendano from Suzuki won on Friday the 13th stage on four-wheel vehicles in the Dakar Argentina-Chile Rally, where the Czech Josef Machacek (Yamaha) finished 2nd place.

Avendano timed 2 hours 52 minutes 13 seconds in the 220km of the trail in the Argentine province of Cordoba.

Machacek arrived at 2'12" later and the third was French Hubert Deltrieu (Polaris) at 2'49" later, while Argentine Marcos Patronelli (Can-Am) arrived on 9th place at 27'54" later.

At the general board Machacek has a time of 66:07'35", followed by Patronelli with 2:20'20" behind, Polish Rafael Sonik with 7:20'15" behind and Deltrieu with 11:11'49" trailing.
