MADRID, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal got a ticket to quarter finals of the Master 1000 of Madrid tournament without facing German Philipp Kohlschreiber, who left the tournament due to an injure in his left knee.

Croatian Ivan Ljubicic defeated French Gilles Simon 3-6, 6-4 and 6-3 and Spaniard Fernando Verscado Argentine Juan Monaco 7-5 and 6-2.
In women's category Russian Dinara Safina, number one of the world, got a ticket to quarter finals when defeating Czech Lucie Safarova 6-0, 4-6 and 6-3, while the Ukranian Alona Bondarenko eliminated Russian Ana Chavetadze to pass to quarters finals.
