BUENOS AIRES, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Argentine soccer team Huracan defeated local league rival San Lorenzo 1-0 on Sunday to take second place in the nation's Closing Tournament, with a mere two rounds left to go.
Defender Paolo Goltz scored the winning goal from a 38th minute header to give victory to the team managed by Angel Cappa at La Bombonera, Boca Juniors' stadium where San Lorenzo was playing as locals.
Huracan now has 35 points, just one behind Velez Sarsfield, who defeated Newell's Old Boys 2-0 on Saturday. Previous second-place holder Launs, with 34 points, lost 4-1 to Arsenal earlier in the 17th round.
The remaining games in the round are unlikely to impact the leadership. San Martin, which has 17 points, faces Jujuy team Gimnasiay Esgrima which has 14; Racing Club, which has 21, faces Boca Juniors, which has 19; and Rosario Central, which has 19, faces Argentinos, which has 13.
