NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- American Doug Barron became the first golfer to be banned for taking a performance-enhancing drug on Monday.
The PGA Tour said in a statement that Barron, 40, had been suspended for a year for violating its anti-doping policy.
The drug was not named in the statement.
