QINGDAO, East China, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Twelve skaters at the National Short Track Speed Skating Championships were qualified here Sunday for China's training teams for the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Olympic gold medalist Wang Meng and other seven skaters, who had won medal at the 2009 world championships, have already made it to the teams.

The selected 20 skaters will train for several months. Then five athletes each in men's and women's training teams will be chosen to participate in the Vancouver Olympics based on their scores at the World Cup, the national championships and training results.

The 12 skaters qualified for the training teams are the top six finishers in the men's and women's all-around competitions, which covers 500m, 1,000m, 1,500m and 3,000m events.
