JOHANNESBURG, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Zinedine Zidane criticized French coach Raymond Domenech and said the French team lacked teamwork in their match against Uruguay.

France struggled to a goalless draw in their opening World Cup match against Uruguay on Friday, creating only a few chances in the game.

"They didn't play together and it was more a case of individual efforts," Zidane said. "The players must take responsibility for themselves, move themselves. You have to be straight with each other."

"(Domenech) is not a coach. He picked his squad and he has to make them play together. Teamwork is the most important thing, and that's not what we saw during the Uruguay match."

France's next match will be against Mexico in Polokwane on Thursday.
