Chinese beach soccer championsips opens

ZHOUSHAN, Southeast China, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese beach soccer championships opened here Sunday with the participation of 16 teams from the country.

Beijing Sports University team clinched the championships' opener by beating Nanjing 8-1.

The competing teams featured national team players who are preparing for the Asian Beach Games slated for December in Oman.
