Beach volleyball world champions defeated in PanAm Games

GUADALAJARA, Mexico, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Current beach volleyball world champions Emanuel Rego and Alison Cerutti of Brazil were defeated by Cuba's Sergio Gonzalez and Karell Pina on Tuesday in the 16th Pan American Games.

The Brazilian pair, who beat countrymen Marcio Araujo and Ricardo Santos in August for the men's world title, made many mistakes in Tuesday's match, to lose it 21-19, 21-11.
