MELBOURNE, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Victoria Azarenka from Belarus won her first grand slam title here on Saturday at the Australian Open, beating Russia's Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-0 in the women's singles final.
Azarenka, the third seed, rose to the No. 1 in the WTA rankings due to the victory.
