Nadal wins his seventh Barcelona title

MADRID, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Rafael Nadal defeated Spanish compatriot David Ferrer 7-6(1), 7-5 on Sunday to win his seventh Barcelona Open title.

It was Nadal's 34th successive match victory on the Barcelona clay and his triumph on Sunday came a week after he secured an eighth Monte Carlo Masters crown.

The world No. 2, who now has 48 career titles, also becomes the only man to win two ATP events more than seven times each.
