Myanmar to take part in 3rd Asian Beach Games in China

YANGON, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar athletes will take part in the 3rd Asian Beach Games with two categories of sports -- beach Sepak Takraw and dragon boat racing in Haiyang of Shandong Province in China, next month, according to the sports circle Wednesday.

The game will run from June 16 to 22 and it features 49 events for 13 sports.

A total of 12 Myanmar athletes will compete in the sepak takraw event while altogether 32 Myanmar competitors will vie for dragon boat racing.

In 2008, Myanmar grabbed two silver medals in sepak takraw event in 1st Asian Beach Games, a biennial competition in Bali, Indonesia, followed by the second in Muscat, Oman.
