BELGRADE, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Udovicic Dejan, head coach of Serbian waterpolo team, said Wednesday his team is training for the gold medal in the London Olympic Games.
"I have confidence in my team and our goal is to take gold medal in London Olympic games," Dejan said.
"I think this competition will probably be the toughest one," he told Xinhua at the pool side.
"On Olympic Games there are eight or top 10 teams who will also, like ourselves, want to get in the semifinals and of course try to win. We will try our best," he said.
"We have been creating this team from the Bejing Olympic Games in 2008, and we are hoping that we will do better than we did in Bejing when we took the third place and the bronze medal."
"This is the younger team," he said. "Their style of playing is different, they are faster, have a lot more chances to score."
"Players are highly motivated. I have a lot of confidence in our players and people from Serbia are expect from us to be better, and we also expect us to be on some higher level in London Olympic Games," he said.
Dejan believes Hungary is the best team and Serbia's biggest rival in London.
"From Hungary we expect a lot," he said. "They won three times in a row on Olympic Games. We expect a lot of Croatian team, Italian team, Montenegro team, who are the top five. Italy also took the world championship, and Spain..."
"Well you never know for Spain. America as well, who in Bejing took silver, and Australia who can also suddenly end up in the quarter finals," Dejan said.
"It will be interesting competition, no doubt, and we hope that we'll have some luck as well, because you cannot be successful without luck."
