STOCKHOLM, July 21 (Xinhua) -- To commemorate the 1912 summer Olympic Games held in Stockholm, an international boat festival called "Jubilee Regatta" started on Friday in the Swedish harbour city of Nynashamn.

Nynashamn, located about 60 kilometers to the south of Stockholm, was the place where the sailing events in the 5th Olympic Games took place in 1912. There were only 20 sailboats that took part in the Games at that time while more than 300 sailboats are going to compete in the same water field of the Baltic Sea 100 years later.

The Swiss boat "Taifun" is no doubt one of the superstars at the Jubilee. The boat was built by Norwegians in the early 20th century and won a gold metal at the Stockholm Olympic Games. Now the boat has become the treasure of its Swiss owner after being changed hands several times.

"We found this boat in 2008, actually in end of 2007 and we fell in love with this boat, because it was a boat of dream," said the owner of Taifun, adding that the main body of this boat remains the same as 100 years ago, although it has been modified many time.

The Jubilee will last for 17 days totally, during which there will be sailing competitions of different levels, classic boat meeting, music festival, Olympic day and sailboats parade.
