Denmark snatches lightweight men's double sculls gold at London Olympics

ETON DORNEY, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Denmark snatched lightweight men's double sculls at the London Olympic rowing regatta on Eton Dorney Lake on Saturday.

Beijing Olympic bronze medalists Denmark's Mads Rasmussen and Rasmus Quist clocked a time of 6 minutes and 37.17 seconds to win the gold.

The silver medal went to world and Olympic reigning champions Britain's Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter in 6:37.78.

New Zealand's Storm Uru and Peter Taylor, silver medalists in 2011 Slovenia worlds, settled for a bronze medal in 6:40.86.
